About Chanak Academy

Built for the students and teachers shaping East Africa's future.

Chanak Academy is a curriculum-aligned learning platform for secondary schools, built to make lessons, support, assessment, and progress easier to trust.

Starting in Uganda. Built around local classrooms. Designed around the syllabus schools actually teach.

Our story

We started with a simple belief.

Capable learners should not be limited by the tools around them. Across Uganda and much of East Africa, the challenge is often access: limited materials, stretched teachers, uneven feedback, and very little support after class.

Chanak was built to close that gap by bringing curriculum-aligned content, guided tutoring, continuous assessment, and teacher tools into one academic platform.

We are not trying to replace teachers. We are building tools that help teachers do their best work and help learners keep going when classroom time is not enough.

What we are building

A smarter academic layer for secondary education.

Chanak is designed around the way schools teach and the way students prepare: curriculum structure, guided support, assessment, mastery, and school visibility working together.

Curriculum-aligned learning

Lessons, quizzes, practice, and tutor support follow the classes, terms, topics, subtopics, and learning outcomes teachers already use.

ChanAI with guardrails

ChanAI explains concepts, asks quick checks, and keeps support tied to what the learner is supposed to understand.

Mastery-based progress

Progress is tracked around learning outcomes, not only completed lessons, so weak spots are easier to see early.

Teacher and school tools

Teachers prepare, assign, and review work faster while schools get clearer visibility across classes and subjects.

The goal is not to make school feel more complicated. It is to make support visible, focused, and easier to act on.

Who we serve

Built for the people around the learner.

Each view is different, but the academic record stays connected: student learning, teacher follow-up, parent visibility, and school oversight.

Why Chanak is different

Built from the curriculum outward.

Many platforms start with content and then try to fit it into school systems. Chanak starts with the official academic pathway.

Mastery

That matters because learners need support that maps to what teachers are expected to teach, what students are expected to understand, and what exams will eventually assess.

Our values

The principles we keep returning to.

These values shape product decisions, school conversations, AI behavior, and the way we measure whether learning is actually improving.

Curriculum trust

Teachers and schools should know exactly what a student is learning and why it matters.

Teacher partnership

Chanak supports teachers instead of bypassing their expertise.

Access first

Good academic support should not depend only on expensive tuition or better-resourced schools.

Local relevance

Examples, access models, and academic pathways should reflect the realities learners meet here.

Measurable progress

Completion is not understanding. Chanak keeps attention on mastery, feedback, and visible academic growth.

Responsible AI

AI help must stay safe, guided, curriculum-aware, and accountable to learning goals.
